Treasure of the Eastern Shore

The Alfred Pinchin House - Federal Street, Snow Hill, MDFederal Street
Stately historic homes in Snow Hill

Federal Street in Snow Hill is known throughout the Lower Shore for its collection of beautiful, stately historic homes.  Lined with mature Sycamore trees and sidewalks, Federal Street takes the visitor on a walk through time when Snow Hill flourished at the "Metropolis of Old Somerset."

The architecture spans the Colonial to present day period, and includes Victorian homes unparallel in beauty, many restored to their original style maintaining their historic integrity.

Many of the houses on Federal Street are included in the Snow Hill walking tour brochure, which can be obtained from the Julia A. Purnell Museum or the Town Hall located on Bank and Green Streets.  The town has many other remarkable historic houses that are not located on Federal Street, but are featured in the Walking Tour brochure.
